Dubai-based Emirates is slated to take delivery of its first A380 today in Hamburg. The aircraft will only be the first of a massive order of 58 such, GP7200-powered, aircraft. The super jumbo will fly out to Dubai on Tuesday.

There has been some speculation about the interior design of the aircraft as customer airlines have asked for specific configurations. Reports suggest that the Emirates version may have a lounge at the rear of the upper deck, deck, along with two showers.

The upper deck carries the first and business class.

First commercial flight is scheduled for New York JFK on 1 August.
