New Delhi: France will be India's ''guest partner'' at next year's India Aviation 2010 exhibition to be held in Hyderabad. It is expected that more than 200 exhibitors will participate. Only the second such exhibition, it will be organised by the ministry of civil aviation in partnership with the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) from 3-7 March 2010.

The event is aimed at providing a boost for India's aviation sector and will be the civilian counterpart of the prestigious, and immensely successful, AeroIndia show, a biennial event held at Yelahanka, Bangalore.

''The India Aviation 2010 will be a very important milestone as we will be partnering France. France has a huge aviation sector and will be a meaningful partner, with its focus on Europe and the sub-continent,'' said minister of civil aviation, Praful Patel.

Terming the aviation sector as the backbone of the Indian economy, Patel said the industry was beginning to show signs of recovery.

''The decline has been addressed. There has been marginal growth. In the coming years, we should be back in the growth trajectory. Better days are ahead,'' he added.
