New Delhi: With crude prices beginning to slide domestic aviation companies are expecting jet fuel costs to slip starting August. Deccan Aviation has now reversed the fuel surcharge hike of its low cost operation, Simplifly Deccan, which it had implemented only last week.

Last week, merged entities Jet-JetLite and Kingfisher-Deccan had raised fuel surcharge from Rs2,250 to Rs2,350 and Rs2,900 to Rs3,100 for short and medium domestic routes, respectively.

As of 25 July the hike has been reversed.

They join the company of AI (domestic) and other independent LCC operations such as those of SpiceJet and IndiGo, which had refrained from hiking surcharges then.

A Jet Airways spokesperson said the company was yet to decide on reversing the hike in JetLite's surcharge.
