AAI to construct cargo terminal facility at Trivandrum airport

New Delhi: The Airports Authority of India (AAI) plans to construct a cargo terminal facility adjacent to the terminal building at the Trivandrum international airport, according to information given by Praful Patel, minister for civil aviation, in the Parliament.

Air cargo at the Trivandrum airport is currently being managed by the Kerala State Industrial Enterprise (KSIE), as a custodian appointed by the customs department. The AAI has, however,  offered to develop and operate its proposed international cargo facility on the available piece of land near the new international terminal building in a joint venture with the KSIE.

The AAI is currently constructing a new international terminal building at the Trivandrum airport.
