Albuquerque, USA: Eclipse Aviation Corp announced Thursday the European debut of the twin-engine Eclipse 500 very light jet in Germany. The company said that this was the first time that the aircraft had flown outside North America.

A company news release said that Eclipse considered Europe a lucrative market and that it has already received 100 orders for the aircraft.

The aircraft has been on display at an air show in Friedrichshafen, Germany, this week. It is now scheduled to fly to Cannes, France, on Friday and then on to Geneva in May. The company said that the plane's range of 1,125 nautical miles allows nonstop flights from London to Warsaw, Poland.

The Eclipse 500 received certification in the United States from the Federal Aviation Administration on Sept. 30 last year and expects to achieve full European flight certification by the end of this year.
