Air Deccan bags best low fare airlines award

New Delhi: Low cost carrier, Air Deccan, won an excellence award from the Air Passenger Association of India (APAI) on Monday as the best low fare airline of 2006.

'Air connectivity is the key to harness the vast potential that the tourism and hospitality industry has in India,' Capt GR Gopinath, managing director of Air Deccan, said in a statement.

Air Deccan, which commands a market share of 21.6 per cent, has the largest network in India, currently covering 64 airports and plying over 350 flights a day.
