Institute of Economic Studies award for Paramount's M. Thiagarajan

The honour is in recognition of Thiagarajan's achievements in productivity, quality, innovation and management in the aviation sector. Thiagarajan, a business management graduate and a qualified pilot, is also the youngest MD in the airline industry. Paramount is also the only airline in the country to offer an all business class service at the economy class fare of other airlines.
Thiagarajan hails from an illustrious industrial family from South India that have acted as pioneers in the field of textiles. He is also the managing director of Paramount Mills Pvt Ltd, a leading textile manufacturing and exporting company.
Paramount Airways won the 'International Arch of Europe Award' this year. Thiagarajan has also been conferred the 'Young Visionary Award' by The Public Relations Council of India.
The Institute of Economic Studies confers the Udyog Rattan Award and Award for Excellence every year. IES was established by a group of economists, parliamentarians and industrialists in 1980.
