Singapore's Tiger Airways set to operate domestic services in Australia

Tiger Airways chief executive Tony Davis also said that the government authority had not placed any specific conditions on it.
Tiger Airways Australia still needs to obtain an air operator certificate from the Civil Aviation Safety Authority before it can start domestic services, which it plans to do later this year.
Meanwhile, the airline also said that it was in the final stages of negotiations with several Australian airports to locate its main operating base and expected to decide within a few weeks.
Tiger Airways has four main shareholders including Singapore Airlines (49 per cent), state-linked Singapore investment firm Temasek Holdings (11 per cent) and Ireland's Tony Ryan, founder of low cost carrier Ryanair (16 per cent).
The airline hopes to replicate its strategy of flying into small centres in Australia, rather than just major cities, similar to what it does in Asia.
