British innovator develops bladeless fan

Engineering innovator and English industrial designer settled in Australia, Sir James Dyson has reinvented the fan, which has not undergone any changes since 1884.
Dyson has invented a radical fan called the Dyson Air Multiplier fan, which has no blades.
James Dyson, who for the past 30 years has continuously revolutionised the vacuum cleaner with no dust bags, turned his attention to addressing the common fan.
Instead of blades, it uses a unique technology to multiply air 15 times through unprecedented advancements in airflow engineering, expelling 450 litres of smooth and uninterrupted air every second.
The inspiration for the Air Multiplier came from the Dyson Airblade hand dryer launched in March 2008.
''We noticed that the high speed air coming out of our Dyson Airblade hand dryer also pulled more air along with it so we realised that it multiplied the air coming through it,'' said Roff Cameron, Dyson SEA managing director.
