Diversified consumer electronic products manufacturer Dixon Technologies will manufacture HP laptops, notebooks, desktops and all-in-one PCs in India under an agreement to be signed with HP India.

As per the deal, Dixon Technologies’ subsidiary Padget Electronics will make use of the government’s extended Production Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme to manufacture HP’s range of products.

HP India Sales Private Limited will sign a definitive agreement with Padget Electronics Private Limited for the manufacture of notebooks, desktops, and all-in-one PCs under PLI 2.0, according to a joint statement issued on 9 September.

Padget Electronics will be manufacturing these products at its new facility coming up in Oragadam in Chennai.

The new 3,00,000 square feet facility, being set up under the PLI for IT Hardware 2.0 scheme for manufacturing laptops, desktops, notebooks etc, is projected to create 1,500 direct jobs. It will have a peak production capacity of 2 million units per annum, as per the joint statement.

This is the second contract manufacturing deal for Dixon after the recent deal with Google for the manufacture of its Pixel smartphones in India.

Founded in 1993, Dixon Technologies (India) Limited commenced manufacturing of colour television in 1994 and has grown to become the largest home grown design-focused and solutions company engaged in manufacturing products in the consumer durables, lighting and mobile phones in India.

Dixon also provides repair and refurbishment services of LED TV panels.
