Petroleum minister bereaved; press conference postponed

Petroleum minister S Jaipal Reddy's scheduled press conference was cancelled today due to the sudden and tragic death of his only niece.
The minister was to address the press on the issues raised in the media by Murli Manohar Joshi of the Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) and Sitaram Yechury of the CPM regarding the leaked draft CAG report on hydrocarbon production sharing contracts (PSCs) at 12.30 pm today.
However, due to sudden and tragic demise of his only niece in Hyderabad in the forenoon today, the minister had to cancel the press conference and rush to Hyderabad, an official release said.
The minister will hold the press conference immediately on his return from Hyderabad, it added.
