Nagesh Alai elected President, AAAI

Nagesh Alai, executive director, Interface Communications, has been elected the president of Advertising Agencies Association of India (AAAI).

He replaces Colvyn Harris, CEO, JWT who had stepped down from the post, and will now be the ex-officio member of the new AAAI executive committee.

At the annual general body meeting of the Association, Lynn de Souza, Lintas India Pvt Ltd was also elected the new vice president.

AAAI saw elections after a long time after the resignation of Harris, when Sandeep Goyal stood for elections against Alai, then vice president of AAAI, who would have been allotted the post as per AAAI customs. 

The Advertising Agencies Association of India is the official, national organisation of advertising agencies, formed to promote their industry interests.

Other members that were elected for the executive committee include Ashish Bhasin, Carat Media Services; Ganesh Baliga, Fifth Estate Communications; Kamal Basu, Saatchi & Saatchi; Kunal Lalani, Crayons Advertising; Nakul Chopra, Publicis Communications; Neville Gomes, Multimedia Aquarius; Pranav Premnarayen, Prem Associates Advertising & Marketing; Sam Balsara, Madison Communications; Srinivasan K Swamy, R K SWAMY BBDO; Surajit Nag, Advertising & Sales Promotion Company; Tanya Goyal, Dentsu Marcom; Umesh Shrikhande, Contract Advertising; Vivek Srivastava, Innocean Worldwide Communication.
