OgilvyOne, the digital and direct marketing arm of Ogilvy, today announced the appointment of Jerry Smith as its new regional president, Asia Pacific region.

Smith will be based in Hong Kong and will oversee OgilvyOne's operations in 12 local markets across the region.

He replaces Kent Wertime, who has been appointed the chairman of OgilvyOne Asia. Wertime will also continue his current responsibilities as president of Ogilvy Japan.

Smith is a long-term Ogilvy Asia veteran, having worked previously as COO of OgilvyOne Asia and more recently as president of Ogilvy's RedWorks operations.

Tim Isaac, Asia chairman of Ogilvy, said, ''Jerry has made many significant contributions to Ogilvy over several years.  He is both an Ogilvy thought leader as well as an important commercial leader of our business.''
