Metropolis appoints Ameera Patel as its new CEO

Mumbai: Metropolis Healthcare executive director Ameera Patel will hold twin charge as CEO, effective 1 April 2010.
A bachelor of business administration from the University of Texas at Austin, Patel was instrumental in the Metropolis's growth from just one diagnostic centre in Mumbai in 2002 to a chain of 55 modern laboratories across South Asia in Mauritius, South Africa, Bangladesh, Nepal, and Middle East.
"Under her stewardship, Metropolis today caters to more than 10,000 small labs, nursing homes and hospitals, over 20,000 consultants and processes more than 10 million test annually. She is also the secretary of the coveted Indian Association of Pathology Labs," an appointments release stated.
