M Madhavan Nambiar takes over from Ashok Chawla as new secretary, civil aviation

New Delhi: M. Madhavan Nambiar has been appointed as the new secretary, ministry of civil aviation in place of Ashok Chawla, who moves to the department of economic affairs, ministry of finance, as secretary.

Prior to the appointment, Nambiar was special secretary, department of information technology, ministry of communications and information technology.

He is a 1974 batch IAS officer from the Tamil Nadu cadre.

It is expected that Nambiar will assume charge from Ashok Chawla on 17 September 2008.
