New Delhi: Airtel, India's largest GSM mobile services provider has showcased six new models of the Blackberry Advantage at the Mobile Asia 2008.

BlackBerry is an end-to-end wireless email solution that allows mobile users to access push in mail (email that pops into your phone exactly like an SMS), mobile telephone, text messaging, internet faxing, web browsing and other wireless information services.

Developed by Canadian company Research In Motion (RIM), it was first introduced in 1999, aimed at constantly mobile business executives as it provides easy access to email, primarily sending and receiving e-mail wherever it can access wireless networks of mobile phone service providers.

Blackberry technology allows users to access the Internet from the palm of their hands and browsing is fun as it allows the user to access WAP, WML and HTML sites.

Airtel and Blackberry have worked on the features of the Advantage model to make it more conducive to the Indian market, which include real-time navigation system (GPS), cricket center to provide updated news on the cricket world, and a 'Facebook' application that enables fast, streamlined and optimised use of the popular social networking website.
