Little wonder from Asus: Eee PC 1002HA netbook comes to India

Clearly emerging a winner in net technologies and the netbook, Asus tech has launched the all new slim, light and elegant black beauty, Eee PC 1002HA netbook in India. With the netbook segment all set to show "robust double-digit growth" this year amid the ongoing global economic recession, what better time for Asus to tweak its strategies, cut down weak models and step up innovations like the Android OS on its netbooks.

Designed for professional travelers, the compact and lightweight Eee PC 1002HA works on 'super hybrid engine' (SHE) that claims to consume up to 15 per cent less power. It comprises of the Power4 Gear Hybrid application and an energy processing unit (EPU) to reduce the power usage. The inclusion of two 4200mAh polymer batteries delivers up to 5 hours of unplugged computing time.

Power4 Gear Hybrid enhances the deployment and usage of power according to the users' power requirements.

Besides, the network also boasts delivering faster internet connection while running with the incorporated 802.11n technology.

Apart from lower energy consumption and wireless internet access, the netbook bundles 160 GB of hard disk drive with the innovative 10GB ASUS Eee online storage facilities.

At just 1.2kg and only 1-inch thick, the Eee PC 1002HA comes equipped with a 10-inch LED-backlit display with a resolution of 1024 x 600 pixels, comfortable keyboard, a large multi-touch touchpad and spacious palm rest for enhanced user experience.

Coming to the other features of the computing device, it runs on Windows XP Home edition operating system and is powered by Intel Atom N270 processor. It is embedded with Intel 945GSE / ICH7-M chipset, a 1 GB DDRII memory with a support for 2 GB of memory.

The new netbook from Asus also incorporates a 1.3 megapixel camera, a digital array microphone, high-definition stereo speakers, Bluetooth connectivity, a built-in 4-in-1 card reader that supports MMC, SD, Memory Stick and MS-PRO media formats.

There is a F9 Fast Recovery Key that ensures easy and quick system recovery at the touch of a finger. There is no word on the price and availability of the Asus Eee PC 1002HA netbook.

Asus Japan has also announced the future launch of their Eee Top 1602, a Eee PC Destkop, powered by an ATOM N270 (1.60GHz), 1 GB of RAM, Intel 945GSE Express and 160GB of HDD. The Eee Top 1602, has a 15.6" touchscreen LCD with a 1366x768 resolution, as well as a 1.3Mpix Camera and Wifi B/G/N. Price of the Eee Top 1602 is set to be around 545€.
