Nikon unveils the new D700 digital SLR

Nikon, today launched the D700 digital SLR (DSLR) camera with 12.1 mega pixel,  full-frame (36 mm x 23.9 mm) CMOS sensor resolution, like the D3, Nikkon's top-of-the-line camera. D700 is ideally designed for advanced and professional photographers.

D700 will be available in the market in late July, for around $3000 (body only).

Nikon D700The D700 promises professional-level performance witha wide range of features in a comfortably light-weight body. The key upgrades in the D700 are a self-cleaning sensor and a built-in flash.

Along with the Nikon FX-format CMOS sensor, the D700 sports Nikon's EXPEED Image Processing System, Nikon's 51-point auto-focus system with 3D Focus Tracking, and two 'Live View' shooting modes that allow users to frame a shot using the camera's 3-inches high-resolution LCD monitor.

Also included is Nikon's Scene Recognition System as well as a new active dust reduction system, which recognises a subject or scene prior to capture and enables more precise exposure control, by judging the color information and applying that information for more accurate autofocus, auto exposure, and auto white balance control.
