Advanta India subsidiary acquires US sorghum products company CSC

Advanta India'as US subsidiary, Advanta US has acquired in toto the business and assets of Crosbyton Seed Company (CSC) Crosbyton, Texas US.

Advanta is part of the generic crop protection, chemicals and seeds company, United Pphosphorus Group.

The Crosbyton- Texas based CSC is a leading breeder, producer and conditioner of hybrid sorghum planting seed products. The company's products include grain sorghum, forage sorghum, millet and also sunflower.

The company did not disclose financial details in its filing with the stock exchanges.

The CSC acquisition marks Advanta's second sorghum investment in the US following its Garrison and Townsend Seed company (GT) acquisition in 2008. GT is based in Hereford, Texas.

The latest move further consolidates the company's global sorghum business presence. The company currently operates in Australia, Argentina, India and Thailand.
