Comcast Corp, AT&T Broadband merge to form new Comcast

New York: Comcast Corporation and AT&T Broadband are merging to form the new Comcast Corporation (Comcast).

Upon completion of the transaction, it is anticipated that Comcasts Class A Common Stock will become the companys largest market capitalisation security on Nasdaq. Additionally, at that time the stocks symbol will change from COMCV to CMCSA.

Comcasts Special Class A Common Stock is currently in the Nasdaq-100 Index (NDX), which allows only one class of security per issuer. Therefore, in accordance with the Index rules, Nasdaq will remove Comcasts Special Class A Common Stock from the Index and replace it with Comcasts Class A Common Stock effective at the beginning of trading on 19 November 2002.

Comcasts Class A Common Stock will also be included in the Nasdaq-100 Index Tracking Stock (QQQ). Comcasts Special Class A Common Stock will continue to be listed on Nasdaq.
