Sunshield Chemicals, Altana Chemie sign global contract

Speciality chemical giant Altana Chemie AG, which reported annual sales of €2,963 million in 2004, has signed a 5-year raw material supply agreement with organic chemicals manufacturer Sunshield Chemicals Ltd, which has its plants in Raigarh, Maharashtra.

Altana Chemie AG, wholly owned subsidiary of Altana AG, has its headquarters in Wesel, Germany, is the holding company for the divisions additives and instruments, effect pigments, electrical insulation and coatings and sealants. It has manufacturing facilities in America, Europe and Asia.

Altana Chemie and the Sunshield Chemicals signed the global supply agreement after trials in India and overseas over the last two years. This assures Altana Chemie globally competitive pricing, quality and assured supplies of the key raw material, and export opportunities for Sunshield.
