Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL) has initiated a first of its kind, Super-Efficient AC programme that ensures 40 per cent saving in electricity use over conventional air-conditioners.

EESL claims the new Super-efficient ACs will enable better cooling at a lower cost – for both customers while helping climate action.
The air-conditioner priced at Rs41,300 (inclusive of GST) in Delhi, promises the consumer savings of about 300 units or Rs2,400 on an average over a 12-month period. Compared to a three-star AC, which today forms the bulk of the market in India, the saving would be about 500 units or Rs4,000 per year.
Air conditioners are anticipated to account for 45 per cent of Indian households’ power demand by 2050, which will increase expenditure for consumers and contribute to global warming.
Consumers will be able to buy the Super-Efficient Air Conditioners distributed by EESL at prices that are comparable to the most energy-efficient ACs in the market. These Super-Efficient ACs will provide 1.5-TR cooling capacity at high ambient temperature. In contrast, ACs currently available in the market degrade their cooling capacity as room temperature increases.
The superior ACs consume about 750 kWh/annum; whereas conventional AC consume 1,160 kWh/annum, thereby enabling consumers to save up to 40 per cent in cooling energy costs.
Further, the new ACs will use 100 per cent copper coil and additional anti-rust coating, enhancing product longevity.
Along with significant savings, EESL is also offering a hassle-free after-sales services, which include complaint redressal support during the life of the programme, attractive EMI options through selective banks, and a buyback option for customers looking to upgrade their AC.
For this programme, EESL has partnered with BSES Rajdhani Power Limited (BRPL) and will cover the DISCOM’s South and West Delhi customers. The partnership targets the distribution of about 25,000 super-efficient air conditioners over the next six months.
The ACs will be sold through EESLmart.in, a dedicated easy-to-use website where customers can make orders and payments. The ACs will be delivered at the customer’s doorstep and installed by professionals within 72 hours. To order the ACs, consumers will need to register on the website, and input their PIN code, details and documents (name, complete address, mobile number, email, CA number and latest electricity bill).
Apart from offering an array of benefits, the programme also gives consumers an opportunity to do their bit for India’s climate change movement.
In the first phase, 50,000 ACs will be available for consumers of BSES Rajdhani Power Limited (BRPL), BSES Yamuna Power Limited (BYPL) and Tata Power Delhi Distribution Limited (Tata Power-DDL), on a first come, first served basis.
