Siemens to build new sub station for Power Grid

Siemens Ltd will build a new 765 / 400 kV sub station for Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd.

In adition to the new substation to be built at Meerut in Uttar Pradesh, the Indian arm of the German electronics and electrical-engineering conglomerate will aso augment Power Grid's substations at Mandola, also at Uttar Pradesh and another at Baalabgarh in Haryana.

Siemens said in a filing with BSE that it would supply the high-end technology products such as circuit breakers, current transformers, capacitor voltage transformers, disconnectors, surge arrestors and solutions like substation automation.

The order, valued at Rs100 core, will be commissioned in January 2011.
