Shreya Life Sciences has launched the new drug, Tadalafil, for the treatment of erectile dysfunction. The drug has been introduced in two strengths under the brand names TD 36 and TD 36 XP.

Tadalafil is considered superior to Sildenafil citrate in the widely-used Viagra, since it acts faster and its effect lasts 36 hours. It has fewer side-effects and is approved for use in over 30 countries including the US. Tadalafil has been found safe for use by diabetes and hypertension patients and has no interaction with food or moderate alcohol. The drug is available only on prescription of specialised doctors.
