"Send Home a Friend – Nepal for all Seasons", a pioneering campaign, has been launched by the government of Nepal to forge partnership with the non-resident Nepalis (NRNs) in different parts of the world and to get their support in promoting Nepal's tourism.

The campaign was actively promoted in coordination with Nepal Tourism Board and the Non Resident Nepalis' Association.

The campaign, announced in October 2007, will run through 2009 and 2010, gathering support from the vast network of NRNs and Nepal Embassies abroad.

Throughout this period the Nepal Tourism Board will provide collaterals to the international Nepali community and friends of Nepal for effective promotion of the campaign and to promote Nepal as a premier holiday destination, gearing up for the Nepal Tourism Year 2011, recently launched by the government of Nepal.

Send Home a Friend, started on 1 January 2008, with the simultaneous launch of its official web site www.sendhomeafriend.com on 31 December 2007.

Links to the web site were put up in around 40 web sites used by NRNs worldwide and recorded hit counts to the website reached over 90,000 in December 2008.
In 2008, the campaign was promoted globally by Nepal Tourism in all the overseas programmes and fairs thyrough Nepal Tourism's sales missions.

Collateral materials like brochures, posters, stickers, danglers were produced by NTB and distributed internationally to disseminate information.

The campaign was monitored through the web site www.sendhomeafriend.com, which required the NRNs to register themselves and their friends and e-mail information to Nepal Tourism Board about the friends' visit, to enable it welcomed the NRN's friends.
