Micromax is all set to launch its much-talked about `Yutopia', the latest in the YU series, and ''the most powerful smart phone on the planet'', according to the company.

Reports quoting leaked data show the YU5050 smart phone will be powered by the top-end Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor, with all eight cores underclocked to 1.5GHz. This is the same processor that powers the new OnePlus 2.

The smart phone will have 4GB of RAM and run Android 5.1.1 (Lollipop)-based Cyanogen 12.1 software.

The YU5050 smart phone will have a 5.2-inch display and is currently undergoing tests in India.

According to a report in tech blog TechGadgetsZ.com, the phone will have full HD resolution (1080x1920p), support 4G LTE speeds, and feature fast-charging. Priced at approximately Rs21,000, the smartphone will be exclusively available on online marketplace Snapdeal.

Micromax recently showed images of the all-metal body phone, which it plans to sell online. The online-only brand YU has teased its forthcoming Yutopia smartphone in a new image that reveals the phone will have a metal body.

Micromax co-founder Rahul Sharma had announced Yutopia as the 'Most powerful phone on the planet.' He had posted this note on the YU forum, "Has it happened to you ever that you have been transformed from your real life into this dream where everything is perfect. The impractical, idealistic world where nothing is impossible. Well, it's happening here and the state of YUTOPIA is no more a dream. We have been working very hard to come up with the most powerful phone on this planet, yes you heard it right THE MOST POWERFUL PHONE EVER, and boy, do we hit our target this time.....the answer is YESSSSSSSSSS! The Most Powerful Phone on this planet will be from YU for YOU and from India, making the YU clan the most POWERFUL in the World! Final work in progress, I am really excited and can't wait to share it with you all. Stay tuned."

Taking potshots at rivals like OnePlus 2 and Xiaomi Mi4i, the teaser carries a message: "RIP Plastic & Sandstone. True power lies in metal."

Micromax has been working on an affordable flagship smart phone that features 4GB of RAM.
