The role of The Frontline Club for Independent Journalism in the WikiLeaks saga is no longer a matter of conjecture, the club has become WikiLeaks Central.

The club has been used by WikiLeaks founder as a base of operations for some time now and it is likely to see some important events in the coming days according to political analysts.

This was in evidence recently, when WikiLeaks announced a press conference to accept submissions from Swiss banker turned whistleblower Rudolf Elmer, the media was in full attendance at the club.

When Assange walked in he seemed to be at ease as he accepted Elmer's two discs full of records and he held them up for all to see, promising a ''full revelation'' of their content.

Assange told the media assembled that WikiLeaks was the best place for the information because: "We have developed expertise in philosophy of scientific journalism to keep the press honest."

He added, "We all know there are opportunists who twist and distort the historical record."
