J K Lakshmi Cement plans to invest Rs600 crore

Chandigarh: The Rs900 crore JK Lakshmi Cement plans to expand its existing manufacturing capacity to about five million metric tons, and additionally set up 20 ready-mix- concrete (RMC) plants at a total cost of about Rs600 crore. The existing capacity of the plant is 3.4 million metric tons.

The capacity enhancement is expected to be complete by October 2008. The firm is also planning to add 15 to 20 RMC plants with an investment of Rs8-10 crore per unit. 5-6 units could be added during the current financial year. At present, JK Lakshmi Cement is operating seven RMC plants in northern India.

The company has Punjab''s first hi-tech RMC plant in Mohali.
