BWA bid price for all-India spectrum crosses Rs8,980 crore on Day 9

The all-India bid price for broadband wireless auction of spectrum has crossed Rs8,980 crore on Day 9 as the bidding process for the BWA auction completed today.

As per the details given by the Department of Telecommunications, six more clock rounds were completed today. Thus total number of clock rounds completed till today is 68.

The round price in Round 68 for Delhi, Mumbai, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu service areas has been recorded at Rs1,384.89 crore, Rs1,404.17 crore, Rs924.79 crore, Rs912.36 crore, Rs1,006.20 crore and Rs1,271.62 crore, respectively.

Eleven bidders are in the race for two slots. These include Bharti, Vodafone, Reliance Communications, Tata, Idea, Aircel, Qualcomm, Augere, HFCL, Spice, and Tikona.

Winners will get 20 Mhz of BWA spectrum. Sources expect the BWA auction to continue for a few days.
