New Delhi: Malaysia Airlines (MAS) has decided to capitalise on the fast approaching winter tourist season by adding additional flights to the south Indian cities of Bangalore and Chennai. During the season, the airline anticipates a rise in tourist inflows to Kuala Lumpur and looks upon these two cities as its gateways to the region.

MAS will add two weekly flights to Chennai over and above the existing seven flights under its new winter schedule. These additional flights will become operational from 28 Oct and are slated for Thursdays and Sundays. The additional flight to Bangalore will take the number of its flights to the Garden City up from three to four a week.

MAS will induct Airbus 330-300 and A330-200 aircraft for these additional flights, which will increase seating capacity from 2,920 to 3,607.
