BWIR to acquire Italian software firm think3's engineering services unit

Engineering services outsourcing firm Barry-Wehmiller International Resources (BWIR), today said it had entered into a deal to acquire think3 of Milan, Italy, to acquire think3's Engineering Services Division.

Think3 is a leading player in CAD, Styling and PLM Software market with more than 30 years of experience in the field, whose customers will now have access to think3 customers to benefit from BWIR's broad service offerings, offshore model and global footprint to enhance their competitive market positions.

''Think3's Engineering Services Division is a perfect complement to BWIR on multiple fronts,'' said Senthilkumar Deivasigamany, BWIR Vice-bPresident and Senior Partner - Operations. ''The type of customers, the model of developing long-term annuity relationships with dedicated teams, and the nature of the work are all a strong fit, which we believe will prove mutually beneficial to our customers''.

BWIR's people-centric leadership culture will provide a continuity of professional career for think3 professionals who will relocate to the BWIR Chennai campus; BWIR has more than a decade of experience offering tool-agnostic engineering and product lifecycle management implementation services to global manufacturing companies.

The additional expertise that BWIR will acquire with the think3 suite of products will provide an added dimension in the European market to expand BWIR's global delivery and execution capabilities.

Barry Wehmiller International Resources (BWIR), the engineering services outsourcing firm with 90 per cent operations in India, has earmarked 2009 for acquiring businesses which will enable the company to expand its customer base to markets in West Asia and Europe.
