Govt to offer 38 coal mines for commercial mining through auction

The coal ministry today announced a revised list of coal mines being offered for commercial mining by private investors after the process of opening up of coal sector was launched on 18 June 2020. 

The revised list includes Dolesara, Jarekela and Jharpalam-Tangarghat coal mines to the first list of mines to be auctioned while Morga South Coal Mine has been withdrawn from the first tranche of auction.
Fatehpur East, Madanpur (North), Morga-II, and Sayang Coal Mines also stand withdrawn from the 11th tranche of auction.
Accordingly, 38 coal mines will now be offered for auction for commercial mining under 11th tranche of auction under CM(SP) Act, 2015 and first tranche of auction under MMDR Act, 1957.
The coal ministry launched the auction process for 41 coal mines under 11th tranche of auction under CM(SP) Act, 2015 and first tranche of auction under MMDR Act, 1957.The updated list of mines and the tender documents for these mines may be accessed through the following link: https://www.mstcecommerce.com/auctionhome/coalblock/index.jsp.
