Forbes India has released a list of 30 young entrepreneurs and innovators across 15 categories that made it to Forbes 'India 30 Under 30' 2018.

The fifth edition of Forbes India '30 Under 30' has selected names in various sectors, including entertainment, finance and venture capital, retail, social entrepreneurs and enterprise technology.

The list covering almost all sectors names cricketers Jasprit Bumrah, Harmanpreet Kaur; actors Bhumi Pednekar, Mithila Palkar and Bollywood singer Jubin Nautiyal.

''Generation Z is rewriting the rules of the game, and playing it hard too. It is putting its mind and money where its beliefs are, with gumption and imagination. Our list is representative across 15 categories and though it is exhaustive, it is not definitive, given India's vast geographical spread,'' Forbes wrote.

''Generation Z is rewriting the rules of the game, and playing it hard too. It is putting its mind and money where its beliefs are, with gumption and imagination,'' Forbes said.

The Forbes Under 30 list is representative across 15 categories and though it is exhaustive, it is not definitive, and considering India's vast geographical spread, it has opted for well-established names, next-generation entrepreneurs and those having access to an influential lineage.

The names selected both through research and multiple conversations with industry experts, meet three broad criteria: the extent of impact of their achievements, and their ability to disrupt the status quo; scalability of the business or line of work; and their potential to stay a long-term player.

The list represent almost all categories, including art and culture, design, e-commerce, entertainment, fashion, finance, food and hospitality, healthcare, law, policy and politics, music, NGOs and social entrepreneurship, social media, mobile tech and communication, sports, technology, etc.

Enterprise excites others like Burma Burma's Chirag Chhajer, 29, whose vegetarian, no-alcohol Burmese restaurants are doing roaring business. Design innovator Kshitij Marwah , 29, has developed the world's first holographic AR headset that works with a smartphone.

For some, it's about freedom, expression or simply the joy of doing something well. For instance, Gautam Bhatia, 29, is part of a team that is working on multiple challenges to the Aadhaar Act. Indian hockey goalkeeper Savita Punia, 27, of Haryana whose grandfather encouraged her to take up the sport to toughen her up, is now a name to reckon with. Former World No 1 pistol shooter Heena Sidhu, 28, is a qualified dental surgeon, but succeeded at the sport she took up as a hobby because of her grit and determination.

''You see things; and you say, 'Why?' But I dream things that never were; and I say, 'Why not?','' wrote playwright George Bernard Shaw. The 30 achievers on our list - artistes, chefs, designers, entertainers, entrepreneurs, finance gurus, musicians and sportspersons - seem to be driven by the same spirit.
