Oriental Cuisines, the prolific restaurant group that runs several restaurant chains under one roof, plans to open 300 new outlets across the country by mid-2015, a top company official said today.

Oriental Cuisines Private Ltd (OCPL), which started the immensely popular concept of food courts in India, now has over 100 outlets across the country. The company has now lined up plans to open 200 Oriental Cuisine outlets and 100 bakery retail points under the 'The French Loaf' brand.

Oriental Cuisines currently operates over 100 outlets under the names Benjarong, Teppan, Ente Keralam, China Town, Zara Tapas Bar, The French Loaf, Le Chocolatier, Wangs Kitchen, Planet Yumm, Kebab House and Hotel Oriental Inn.

The restaurants group expects a turnover of Rs150 crore for the current financial year ending 31 March 2014 against a turnover of Rs110 crore reported last fiscal, Narendra S Malhotra, chief executive of Oriental Cuisines, said.

''We are looking at opening 100 French Loaf outlets and 200 Oriental Cuisine outlets by mid-2015'' he said, after inaugurating the 50th French Loaf outlet.

Oriental Cuisine plans to add 25 outlets under the `French Loaf' brand in 2013 alone, Malhotra said, adding that the flagship brand contributes 27 per cent revenues to the group's total revenues.

He said the company has been growing at a 30 per cent CAGR and is looking at opening shops in Mumbai and New Delhi under the expansion plan.

Oriental Cuisines Private Limited (OCPL) was originally founded by foodie, professor, restaurateur and entrepreneur M Mahadevan in May 1994 under the name of Chaitanya Gourmet Splendour Private Limited. It was later renamed Oriental Cuisines Private Limited in March 1997.

OCPL founded and started the immensely popular concept of Food Courts in India. It also pioneered the drive to set global standards in hygiene, menu planning, service, systems and procedures to match customer expectations on a day-to-day basis.

Today, the company caters to more than 30 million people each year in over 100 odd outlets, across the country.
