India to set up $30-million Super-specialty hospital in Bethelhem

India and Palestine on Sunday signed three memoranda of understanding for cooperation in the fields of health, education, finance on the sidelines of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's official visit to the country.

The two countries also signed an MoU for construction of India Palestine Centre for Empowering women, "Turathi'', at a cost of $5 million.

India and Palestine also signed an MoU for setting up of new National Printing Press at Ramallah at a cost of $5 million

Under an MoU signed between India and Palestine, India will construct a school in Muthalth Al Shuhada village at a cost of $1 millionand another school in Tamoon village in Tubas governorate, at a cost of $1.1 million.

Besides, an agreement has been signed for construction of an additional floor to Jawahar Lal Nehru School for Boys at Abu Dees at a cost of $0.25 million.

Prime Minister Modi, who launched an official tour of the Gulf countries from Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) today visited a 300-year-old Shiva Temple in Muscat, Oman in the last leg of his tour.

The prime minister will also be at the grand Sultan Qaboos Mosque which is built from 300,000 tonnes of Indian sandstone. He is also slated to meet a group of Omani CEOs.

On Sunday, Modi held wide-ranging talks with the Sultan of Oman Qaboos bin Said al Said during which the two countries signed eight agreements.

He led delegation-level talks with the Sultan and discussed measures to strengthen cooperation in trade and investment, energy, defence, security, food security and regional issues.

After their talks, the two sides signed eight agreements, including a MoU on legal and judicial cooperation in civil and commercial matters.

They also signed an agreement on mutual visa exemption for holders of diplomatic, special, service and official passports and a MoU on cooperation in the field of health, tourism and peaceful uses of outer space.

Besides, the two countries signed an agreement on cooperation between foreign service institute of the ministry of external affairs and Oman's Diplomatic Institute.

Also, Sultan Qaboos appreciated the contribution of "honest and hardworking" Indian nationals in the development of Oman.

More than nine million Indians work and live in the Gulf region. They also constitute the largest expatriate community In Oman.
