Tihar inmates designing costumes for Bollywood venture

Tihar, the biggest jail in Asia, is known for the confinement of dreaded criminals. It is also known for unique vocational training programmes, innovations by inmates and their out of the box approach that often makes parallel news.

Tihar Jail inmates are in the process of designing costumes for Hindi feature film Marksheet, a film, which the jail authorities say has been inspired by real life events where a timid village school boy goes on to become the man almost wiping out the reliability of India's management, engineering and medical education institutions.

The costumes are being designed under the mentorhip of fashion designer Winky Singh.

The story of Marksheet talks about dejected youth who yearns for a better life and takes to a life of crime.

This is first ever movie where jail inmates will design complete costumes for a feature film, Tihar authorities say.
