Radio One and Ten Sports announces winner of contest news

94.3 Radio One, Maximum Music Fataafat, is sending  lucky winner Dutta Valerian Arickdas on an all expenses paid package to Sri Lanka, to watch the Compaq Cup, 4 Match ODI tri-series involving India, Sri Lanka and New Zealand. Ten others have won goodie bags with exciting treats.

Over the last week, 94.3 Radio One's MJs have been quizzing listeners on their knowledge of cricket matches and cricketers. Each listener had to answer six interesting questions related to the game. Two winners were decided for each day from Monday to Friday, making ten winners each the week. Each winner has been awarded a Ten Sports goodie bag, while the grand prize winner based on the highest number of points received during the quiz, will fly to Sri Lanka to watch the exciting ''Compaq Cup'' cricket tri-series.

Vehrnon Ibrahim, national programming director of Radio One says, ''In India, cricket almost has the status of a religion. Along with Bollywood, another mainstay of the station, cricket is followed with tremendous passion and loyalty by listeners. In keeping with that interest, we've run this contest, and are sending the most knowledgeable cricket fan to see an exciting tri series to Sri Lanka. ''

The winner Arickdas narrates that he had planned well for the contest, reading up all the facts and figures he could about cricket. He enthusiastically states, ''I am delighted at this opportunity given by 94.3 Radio One and Ten Sports to watch the Compaq Cup in Sri Lanka. I am very excited about watching my favourite cricket stars in action. This will be my first visit to Sri Lanka and all because I regularly listen to 94.3 Radio One. ''
