Insurance sector employees urged to reject VRS

The All India Insurance Employees' Association (AIIEA) has called upon the employees of the four public sector general insurance companies to reject the offer of special voluntary retirement scheme (VRS) notified by the Government ..

The AIIEA has also called upon employees in the insurance sector to hold protest demonstrations throughout the country on January 9 against the special VRS. According to K. Venu Gopal, General Secretary, AIIEA was opposed to the special VRS for Class-I officers and Class-III and IV employees of, as it would be injurious to the public sector general insurance companies.
