UCO Bank clocks 20% growth; total business at Rs 48,500 cr

Kolkata: UCO Bank has posted a 20.5 per cent growth in business in 2002-03. The total business at Rs 48,500 crore showed a growth of Rs 8,275 crore as compared with Rs 8,014 crore in 2001-02.

The deposit growth during the period amounted to Rs 4,431 crore, or 16.5 per cent, and advance growth accounted for more than Rs 3,840 crore (28.7 per cent).

With this growth, the bank is expecting an operating profit of over Rs 600 crore for the year under review as against Rs 476 crore in 2001-02.

The bank has completed computerisation of operations in 684 of its branches, including 11 service branches. With this, more than 75 per cent of its total business has been covered by computerisation.
