Dena Bank, Visa Electron roll out international debit card

Mumbai: Dena Bank has launched Dena International Debit Card in association with Visa Electron.

Dena Bank chairman and managing director A G Joshi says the card will be available free of cost to all Dena Bank accountholders who maintain a quarterly minimum balance of Rs 5,000. Alternatively, the card can also be acquired at an annual fee of Rs 100.

The Dena card can be used at all Visa Electron acceptance locations, currently consisting of 51,000 merchant establishments in India and around 10 million locations across the world.

Cardholders will also have global access to cash through the Visa ATM network, in addition to the bank's own ATMs. The Visa network covers over 3,500 ATMs across India and over 780,000 ATMs globally.

The bank will also provide cardholders a personal accident insurance cover of Rs 1 lakh for a period of one year at no extra charge.

The bank is also thinking of going in for a tier-II issue by March 2003 to raise around Rs 60 crore.
