Bangalore: Bank of India is set to introduce its mobile banking services in Bangalore shortly. Infrasoft Technologies is providing the software solutions for the wireless automated teller machine (ATM) network to be deployed in these mobile banking projects.

The mobile ATM is connected to the banks' branch network through a wireless medium and validates account balances online before committing any transaction. Customers using mobile ATMs can hold accounts in any of the 275 branches currently connected to the multi-branch banking network of Bank of India. Soon, Swadhan ATM cardholders will also be able to use the mobile ATM facility.

By the end of 2003, Bank of India plans to expand its MBB network to another 450 branches across the country to include second-tier towns such as Visakhapatnam.
