Samsung chooses Wind River Technology

Mumbai: Wind River Systems, the global leader in device software optimisation (DSO), has announced that Samsung Electronics'' Digital Media Business, a global leader in digital convergence technologies, has selected Wind River''s platform for consumer devices as the major device software platform for future product development.

This agreement builds upon and cements a long-standing history of successful product deployment between the two companies. Products from Samsung Digital Media Business with Wind River''s device software include a wide array of DVD players and recorders, digital set top boxes, digital televisions, digital Imaging printers and digital video on demand recorders.

Kil Su Eo, vice president at Samsung Electronics, Digital Media Business said, "Wind River''s Platform for Consumer Devices provides us with a reliable and modular base from which we can develop a complete range of devices. We are very pleased to work with the leader in device software optimisation, and plan to continue to leverage Wind River products."
