Ratan Tata visits the Volkswagen pavilion at the Auto Expo '08

New Delhi: While visiting the Volkswagen pavilion, Ratan Tata was welcomed by Joerg Mueller, President, Volkswagen India, and Andreas Prinz, Managing Director, Volkswagen Passenger Cars India.
The trio had a discussion about the range of vehicles on show, including the new Volkswagen Up! concept car, as well as the Passat, the Jetta and the Phaeton that would soon debut in India.
Volkswagen is presently laying the foundations for a major model-offensive in India, aimed squarely at establishing its presence in the market. "Considering the potential of our small car here, we feel that the UP! is ideal for the domestic market," said Joerg Mueller.
