Kolkata: Indian computer peripherals-maker TVS Electronics has said it has tied up with the US-based Verifone, a leader in electronic payment solutions, to offer e-payment products to local financial companies.

TVS eTechnology, a TVS Electronics-owned company, will jointly develop and deploy Verifone's advanced electronic payment technology into financial institutions and other emerging markets throughout India, company officials said. The Santa Clara-based Verifone, a former Hewlett-Packard subsidiary, was acquired by the Gores Technology group last year.

The Chennai-based TVS Electronics makes printers and uninterrupted power supply systems for computers. In the late afternoon trade on 25 February, the company's shares were up 4.1 per cent at Rs 35.50 on the Bombay Stock Exchange in a flat market.
