Temasek to focus on India

Chennai: Following the acquisition of a 5.2 per cent stake in ICICI Bank, the Singapore based Temasek Holdings, an investment company, has decided to focus on India. The company is planning to open an office in Mumbai and look at investment options in various sectors. The company has set up the $ 100 million Merlion India Fund to investment in mid-to late stage Indian companies.

The Indian operations would be headed by Manish Kejriwal who will be assisted by Ravi Krishnasamy, currently director of investments, Temasek.
