TCS building new 10,000-seat campus in Kerala news

IT services and business solutions major Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) is setting up a new learning and development campus in Thiruvananthanpuram, Kerala.

The new campus will have a capacity to house 10,000 professionals when fully completed and will offer TCS' leading edge learning curriculum to those who join the company from colleges, a company release said today.

Spread over 82 acres in the Technopark area in Thiruvananthanpuram, TCS will invest Rs1,000 crore on the project, which will become the company's training center once completed.

"The 10,000-seat campus will set the global benchmark for corporate learning institutions in terms of the physical infrastructure available as well as the holistic professional and personal development programs that will be available," said N Chandrasekaran, CEO and MD, Tata Consultancy Services. "We are delighted to expand our presence significantly in this city, where current primary training center has been located since 1997."

The campus infrastructure will include classrooms, auditoriums, computer laboratories, a library, cafeterias, accommodation facilities as well as recreational and shopping areas. Construction will commence in 2011-12 and is expected to be completed 36 months from the date of commencement.

This new campus will be learning hub of the organisation and will be connected with all other satellite training facilities across the globe.
