Avaya GlobalConnect announced on Monday that Tata Consultancy Services will be its technology partner for managing and overseeing the company's total internal IT outsourcing needs. Under the multi-year deal, TCS will assume responsibility of AGC's internal IT operations.
Avaya GlobalConnect is a solutions integrator in the areas of unified communication, contact centres and IP Telephony, with focus on accelerating customer's business across industry verticals.
Anil Nair, managing director, Avaya GlobalConnect, said, ''For us, scalability and cost-control are essential to tap the enormous potential of India market, expand customer base and sustain our leadership position. Outsourcing our IT systems to TCS will allow us invest the accruing savings towards growth and customer responsiveness.''
G Srinivasa Raghavan, head, India business, TCS said, ''We will provide comprehensive IT solution for AGC's business needs and work with them on a well-integrated delivery platform built for quality service and high performance.''
Meanwhile TCS, India's largest software exporter by revenue, said some of its clients have resumed discretionary spending on information technology.
Some clients have received budgetary allocation for IT projects that had been put on hold during the global financial crisis, chief financial officer S Mahalingam told reporters on the sidelines of an industry conference. But "based on this spending, we cannot yet say that the recovery is here," he added.
