Tata Motors launches Sumo Victa

Chennai: In order to give a boost to the sales of the utility vehicle Sumo, Tata Motors Limited has launched a new variant called Sumo Victa. According to SG Saksena, assistant general manager, product group-utility vehicles, passenger car business unit, the new look Sumo will appeal to the personal user segment as the present models are mainly used by the taxi operators.

Priced in the range of Rs4.88 - Rs5.87 lakh (ex-showroom Chennai), the Sumo Victa comes in three different trim levels, seven new colours and is powered by a Bharat Stage II compliant diesel engine.

Apart from the changed interiors, the new variant comes with changes to its steering mechanism so that manoeuvring becomes easy for the driver. The vehicle now has a small turning radius of 4.9 metres.

According to Saksena, Tata Motors will continue with the Sumo Spacio variant. With the launch of Sumo Victa, he hopes to increase Sumo sales by at least 10 per cent.
