Tata Steel Q4 net down at Rs1,561 crore; pays 120 per cent dividend

Tata Steel has reported a net profit of Rs1,560.51 crore for fiscal fourth quarter ended 31 March 2012, against a net profit of Rs1,707.71 crore during the quarter ended 31 March 2011 - down 8.62 per cent year-on-year.

The total income of the company increased to Rs9,662.36 crore during the quarter ended 31 March 2012, from Rs8,499.73 crore during the quarter ended 31 March 2011.

For the year ended 31 March 2012, Tata Steel reported a net profit of Rs6,696.42 crore, against Rs6,865.69 crore during the year ended 31 March 2011.

Total income for the year ended 31 March 2012 increased to Rs34,819.89 crore from Rs29,924.71 crore in the year ended 31 March 2011.

Consolidated net profit (after taxes, minority interest and share of associates) of the group for the quarter ended 31 March 2012 plunged to Rs433.46 crore from Rs4175.60 crore during the quarter ended 31 March 2011, unaudited results showed.

Total income of the group increased to Rs34,220.59 crore during the quarter ended 31 March 2012, from Rs34,188.00 crore during the quarter ended 31 March 2011.
