Tata Motors has showcased the Gravitas, the seven-seater version of the feature-rich Harrier, at the Auto Expo 2020. The top SUV model from Tata Motors so far, the gravitas will be launched in the market inthe second half of 2020.

The Gravitas, which comes with a BSVI compliant 2.0-litre 170 PS diesel engine, boasts of several notable features that are not available on the Harrier, which consolidates Gravitas’s position as top-of-the-line SUV.
The Gravitas comes equipped with disc brakes on all four wheels and it has longer rear overhang and a bulge on the roofline, enough to accommodate the third row of passengers with enough interior room.
Though the Gravitas looks broadly similar compared to the regular Harrier on the insides, it has been updated with cabin features of a large free-staring touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, and the centre console leads on to storage area and cup holders. The layered dashboard with chrome finish, brown leather seats, multi-functional steering wheel with mounted control, similar instrument binnacle as the Harrier and chrome AC vents are other highlights.
The Gravitas is 4,661 mm long, 1,894 mm wide and stands 1,786 mm tall. It is powered by a BSVI compliant 2.0-litre Kryotec 170 four-cylinder diesel engine producing 170 PS and 350 Nm. It is paired with either a six-speed manual or a six-speed torque converter automatic transmission sourced from Hyundai.
The Gravitas will also be offered in a six-seater layout with a middle row captain seating arrangement. The SUV will compete with some of the top-end seven-seaters offered in the domestic market.
The Gravitas, which was first show-cased at the 2019 Geneva International Motor Show under the Buzzard moniker, will go on sale in the initial months of the next financial year (April to September 2020). Tata has also unveiled the HBX concept, Sierra EV concept, Hexa Safari Edition and the 2020 Harrier alongside a range of other passenger and commercial vehicles at the ongoing motoring show.
Tata Motors also on Tuesday announced the launch of India’s own electric SUV – the Nexon EV, at an introductory price starting from Rs13.99 lakh (ex-showroom – All India).
Powered by the cutting-edge Ziptron technology, The Tata Nexon EV is an aspirational SUV for personal car buyers looking for a thrilling, connected drive experience with zero emissions. The vehicle promises an ARAI certified range of 312 km on a single charge, an efficient high voltage system, fast charging capability, extended battery life and class leading safety features.
The Nexon EV will be available in three trim levels across 60 authorized dealerships in 22 cities. It will be available in three exciting colour options – Signature Teal Blue colour, Moonlit Silver and Glacier White.
